UNICYP Commander besöker Pafos 17 juli Anemi Hotell

På torsdag den 17/7 får Paphos ett celebert besök när Major General Kristin Lund, Force Commander of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) kommer till Paphos-Aphrodite Rotary Club för att berätta om den fredsbevarande truppen på Cypern. Hon är den första kvinnan någonsin som är chef för en av FN-styrkorna.

Mötet äger rum på Anemi Hotel kl 20.00 och alla svenskar är hjärtligt välkomna om ni anmäler ert deltagande senast onsdag till carlerland@gmail.com eller på tel 99013377. Platserna är begränsade.

Här är lite information om hennes imponerande erfarenhet:

More than 34 years of military command and staff experience at the national and international levels, served as Deputy Commander of the Norwegian Army Forces, became the first Norwegian female officer promoted to the rank of Major General. Her previous experience with the United Nations includes service with the United Nations in Lebanon and the United Nations Protection Force in Bosnia. Major General Lund has extensive experience in multinational operations, including deployment to Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, and with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s SFOR in the Balkans and ISAF Headquarters in Afghanistan.

Graduated from the Norwegian Defence Command and Staff College, the Norwegian Defence University College and the United States Army War College, where she earned a Master of Strategic Studies degree.
